Integrasi dalam Kesenian Islam

Sejak permulaan, kesenian Islam dilihat melalui proses yang selektif mengikut motif dan gaya tertentu. Proses ini dilakukan oleh artis itu sendiri yang mana kebanyakan mereka adalah non Muslim dan kemudiannya memeluk Islam. Mereka membawa bersama unsur etika dan estetika baru yang diikuti oleh generasi seterusnya. Antara perubahan yang dilihat adalah pada senibina yang berkaitan dengan ibadah, dan inilah yang memainkan peranan utama kepada pembaharuan dalam kesenian Islam.

A good lecture by Prof. Devin Stewart on the transmission of knowledge in the Islamic World at the Centre for the Study of Islamic Manuscripts, al-Furqan. As far as I'm concern, the inadequacy of some of Islamic universities and Islamic educational institutions in Malaysia is, there is no even a subject on history / Islamic history for Islamic Studies student; except for CASIS. However, I believe that they are working on it...hopefully.
